On Sunday Three cafe members set out to survey Nakhon Chaisi (NC) as a possible route for our Cycle tour company.
We parked our car at the turn off from Baronratchasinee to NC and unloaded our three bikes One Meridda One Gary fisher and one Trek. The weather was fine and the roads very quiet. We stopped off along the way at the quaint town of NC and got some liquid supplies then we cycled to Wat Glang Bang-gaew temple which was fairly impressive and it also houses a Buddhist art museum (unfortunately closed after 3pm on a Sunday). We carried on along the main road out of the town and cycled down towards the river where we visited the Ban Rim Nam floating raft restaurant. Several of us had been to the this place before but it seems that they have changed the management and the service was terrible and awfully slow(never again). Our group then looped back around and crossed a bridged over the NC river and back to our car.
Total distance around 25 Km
Road conditions Good (no dogs)
Overall it was a nice Sunday afternoon jaunt with some nice temples and river scenery. It looks like we might combine this trip with a morning excursion to Phutamonton park in the morning
More info about that in our next post. Also look out for an official announcement for the cafes' kanchanaburi tour next month.
Cheers!
